Good Energy supplies 100% renewable electricity sourced from the natural energy of wind, sun or running water. In other words, for every unit of electricity used by a Good Energy customer they promise to buy an equivalent unit of electricity from a renewable source and supply this to the grid.

Ecotricity is one of the few green engy companies dedicated to investing in new renewable energy sources. The only green electricity company actually building these new renewable energy sources. In 2005, they're investing £7 million in wind energy.

Juice Juice has been developed through a partnership between npower and Greenpeace. Power from Juice is currently generated at North Hoyle Offshore Wind Farm.

Scottish Power Green Energy H20 A partnership between Scottish Power and the Coop. Green Energy H2O is sourced entirely from hydro-power.

Clear Skies, funded by DTI (Department of Trade and Industry) and managed by BRE (Building Research Establishment), aims to give householders and communities a chance to realise the benefits of renewable energy by providing grants and access to sources of advice.


The National Energy Foundation, is an independent educational charity established in 1988 to work for the more efficient, innovative and safe use of energy and to increase public awareness of energy in all its aspects. It encourages the development of renewable energy and energy efficiency. It's sister organisation - Green Energy, is also a useful information resource.
