Sparrow electric car Single-passenger, three-wheeled zero emission vehicle (ZEV), with a top speed of 70mph, and a range of 40 to 60 miles. Recharges in 6 hours (US) or 3 hours (EU).

		Honda Insight The very first gasoline-electric hybrid sold in the United States, Named by the EPA as the most fuel-efficient vehicle in the two-seater class. The overall fuel efficiency leader in America.				Intelligent Community Vehicle System by Honda A new way to use cars, devised by Honda. Cars can be shared, with each user taking possession of one only when they actually need to go somewhere.

		Prius from Toyota The 2005 gas/electric Prius from Toyota. With Hybrid Synergy Drive® offering good rates of fuel economy and an Advanced Technology Partial Zero Emission Vehicle (AT-PZEV) rating.				Car with built-in bike Two solutions to rising petrol prices combined: a hybrid sports car that incorporates a folding bike into its structure. See also the designer's site (in Spanish).

		ES-X2 electric scooter A stylish electric scooter that shows that good design and environmental performance can go hand in hand. Range of 40Km and max speed of 60Km/hr.				MDI Air car A car that runs on compressed air! Can be recharged at the mains in 4 hours, or at special Air stations in 3 minutes. Family cars, vans taxis and pick-ups also available. Maximum speed of 110kmh and a range of 2-300 km.

		Aptera A 330 MPG hybrid composite car made using cutting edge computational fluid dynamics. In development stage. Made by a Carlsbad company of several "restless and creative engineers". They also work for the new private manned space programme.				Acabion A streamlined motorbike, far superior to the car in terms of its efficiency and mobility characteristics, which are taken primarily from aeroplane construction and high-quality bionic designs. Looks pretty cool too, although for environmental reasons, we'd still opt for the Twike (see below) over this.

		Scoot A beautiful looking electric scooter with a range of 30 miles, (which will cost you all of 30p), and if you have a green energy tarrif (or have a micro turbine), charging it is environmentally friendly too.

		Strida folding bicycles An ultra-portable, lightweight, greaseless, rustproof folding bicycle. Weighing in at only 10KG (22lb), and folding quickly down to 114cm x 51cm x 51cm, this really is a small footprint vehicle!				Brompton folding bicycles The king of folders - the Brompton has cult status. A finely engineered and elegant machine with a full-size frame, rear suspension, and probably the most compact fold in the world.

		Windcheetah recumbents An iconic trike with six significant speed and endurance records. For racing, touring, commuting or purely for exercise and pleasure. Also exhibited in the Museum of Modern Art and the Guggenheim museum.				AVD utility vehicles Pedal powered people and load carrying work-bikes, by the makers of the Windcheetah. Winner of numerous design awards, including the prestigous “Millennium Product” status awarded by the Design Council of Great Britain.

		Cycles Maximus pedicabs A Bath(UK)-based company offering 3 versions of the trike - Pedicab Rickshaw, Cargo Trike and Self Build Flatbed, all available with two different Electric Assist options.				Dahon folding bikes Folding bikes of many types - city, commuter, electric, mountain touring, road and sport. A company who really do want to try and re-invent the wheel.

		Airnimal folding bikes High performance folding bicycles. The Chameleon (shown left), for example, has 3 levels of fold and yet performs well enough to be first choice in many major cycling events.				Ixi bikes Folds 'flat' so you can store it easily in hall-ways, comes apart so you can carry it in your car, is lightweight (ultra light-weight aluminium) and doesn't have a greasy chain.

		Cyclepod An innovative modern vertical cycle storage unit that stores 8 bikes within a 2 meter diameter radius. So much more attractive than the normal 'toast rack' style bike parking. Cyclepods also come with an umbrella to keep the bikes dry.				Twike A bicycle 'car' for two! We can't tell you much more about this amazing looking machine, because the website is in German, and we're English (i.e. we only speak English. Dreadfull I know).
